About the Role

Atiom is looking for an AI Platform Engineer to help design, build, and scale the AI foundations of our platform. This role focuses on AI as a system, not AI as a demo.

You will work on cloud-native AI pipelines, multi-tenant AI architecture, retrieval systems, and internal tooling—treating models as interchangeable components within a broader, secure, observable platform.

You’ll collaborate closely with our CTO, backend architects, DevSecOps lead, and product team to define our long-term AI technical direction while also implementing production-grade solutions hands-on.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys thinking in terms of infrastructure, pipelines, data flows, and reliability, and who sees AI as part of a larger system rather than a standalone feature.

Who You Are

• You are based in Thailand and eligible to work locally (Bangkok).
• You have 3+ years of experience in backend, platform, or systems engineering.
• You have experience building cloud-native systems, ideally on AWS.
• You are comfortable designing and implementing distributed, multi-tenant systems.
• You think in terms of pipelines, queues, batch jobs, retries, and observability.
• You collaborate well with backend engineers and enjoy defining clean integration boundaries.
• You communicate technical ideas clearly in English.
• You are pragmatic: you balance experimentation with production readiness.

Nice to have (but not required):

• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, Step Functions, or similar
• Experience with vector databases (Aurora pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
• Experience working with LLMs via managed services (e.g. AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Experience designing permission-aware or tenant-isolated systems
• Experience building internal developer or admin tools
• Experience with Golang, Node.js, or Python

Key Responsibilities:

AI Platform Architecture

• Help define Atiom’s long-term AI platform architecture.
• Design AI systems where models are replaceable components, not hard dependencies.
• Build secure, scalable, and observable AI pipelines using AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps to ensure reliability, cost control, and security.

Retrieval & Knowledge Systems

• Design and implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Build ingestion pipelines for knowledge buckets and content sources.
• Define chunking, metadata, and indexing strategies.
• Implement multi-tenant, permission-aware retrieval logic.
• Optimize for latency, accuracy, and scale.

AI Content & Workflow Systems

• Improve AI-generated content quality through structured, multi-step workflows.
• Design evaluation and feedback mechanisms to measure output quality.
• Build systems that support consistency, localization, and enterprise requirements.
• Collaborate with product and UX to ensure AI output fits real user needs.

Backend Collaboration

• Work closely with backend engineers to define APIs, data models, and event flows.
• Coordinate on implementation details while keeping ownership boundaries clear.
• Ensure AI systems integrate cleanly into existing backend services and architectures.

Monitoring, Cost & Tooling

• Implement monitoring for AI pipelines: latency, failures, throughput, and cost.
• Build internal tools that help content authors, CS teams, or PMs work with AI more effectively.
• Establish best practices for AI development across the company.

You’ll help evolve Atiom’s AI capabilities from early integrations into core platform systems used by enterprise clients globally. This includes building scalable AI foundations, improving content quality, and enabling intelligent insights that directly impact frontline workers.

You will have meaningful influence over how AI is architected, governed, and scaled at Atiom.
